THE news that a KWAK, who is sitting somewhere within the corridors of the CWAC building, has decided that the Northwich Vision is no longer cool, does not surprise me.
No doubt this KWAK will have created a post for himself while he sits and ponders on a new name for a scheme, for which the authorities can then squander yet more millions of the taxpayer’s money.
The very mention of the name CWAC makes my blood boil. If the merger of Vale Royal with other boroughs into CWAC was supposed to bring about any savings, it will take a lifetime just to recoup the millions of pounds that the merger will have cost.
Just thinking up the changes will have helped to justify the very existence of a civil servant’s position.
Then the costs of designing and producing new road signs, signs on buildings, new letter headed stationery, not to mention the cost of relocating staff, will help to boost sums of money into figures that are even larger than an MP’s expenses claim.
I am now beginning to wonder how long it will be before another KWAK decides to merge Cheshire East with Cheshire West. Of course a new name will then have to be thought up. Perhaps Blue Peter could run a competition. My vote would be for Cheshire County Council, or have we been there before?
