I believe that enlightened governments intended flood plains for a serious purpose, especially in Northwich, which has seen so many floods in the past.
Why then are developers permitted to build estates of houses on the flood plains? Do surveyors and solicitors warn intending buyers that their new homes are built on flood plains? Does anyone really want to buy a house built on a flood plain? Finally, is it still possible to get insurance for houses built on flood plains?
