I am Lee Barber’s father and I want to thank Barbara Jordan for her feature in last week’s Guardian about a charity sparring day to raise funds for my son. I also want to thank the wonderful people at Box Fit Academy in Northwich for their kind support.

I was privileged to attend and see the work of the club and they are an asset to the community. Adults and especially children can join to gain friends and confidence.

I was surprised to learn that this small community club has to pay rent to the TATA firm. That conglomerate should be happy to sponsor that local facility.
