MANY of us will be enjoying walking in the countryside and looking forward to the weather improving with spring just round the corner!
I’d like to make a few points about how we can continue to do this considerately and safely.
Some local farmers had to abandon sowing winter wheat because the fields are waterlogged and you may have noticed some ditches on the side of the roads have been cleared. This helps irrigate the adjoining fields and it is a time-consuming task.
There are some areas locally that people have been leaving the official footpaths and walking through private land.
This is causing problems for the farmer/landowner as he/she has to repair hedges and fences and it’s additional work that they can ill-afford.
Please continue to enjoy walking in the countryside while following the country code.
