WHAT are the new traffic lights for that have appeared on the back road of Northwich along the river to and from the Bull Ring?

It looks like they are controlling the flow of traffic both ways, but where is the traffic approaching the Bull Ring going to go?

The only option I can see is for it to travel up past the market. If that is so then it is going to be a nightmare for pedestrians trying to get to the buses — they will be walking out of the market straight into moving traffic.

Is there going to be any warning to them about the potential hazard? This is just the latest stupid idea in the gyratory system.
