FIXTURE confirmations, a serious injury and some Christmas fun have been announced by a number of football clubs.

Witton Albion have been drawn at home to Congleton Town in the Cheshire Senior Cup quarter-finals, having gone into the hat thanks to their second-round win at Nantwich Town last week.

The tie will be played week commencing January 22, 2024.

Northwich Victoria and 1874 Northwich have confirmed that their Mid Cheshire Senior Cup tie has been rearranged for Tuesday, January 9, 2024, kick-off 7.45pm.

Former 1874 midfielder Sam Hare has suffered an injury blow and requires an operation.

Hare, who is captain of Stockport Town in his second season with club after having previously had five campaigns with the Greens, sustained a tear of his ACL in a recent match.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Sam fund the cost of the expensive operation he requires.

He will then face a lengthy period of recovery and is potentially facing nine to 12 months out of the game.

Prior to joining 1874 ahead of the 2016/17 season, he had spells at Glossop North End and Stockport County.

Sam scored 11 goals in 139 games for the Greens.
