THE semi-final scheduled to be played between 1874 Northwich and Northwich Victoria tomorrow has been postponed.

1874 were due to host Vics in the last four of the Mid Cheshire District FA Senior Cup at Townfield.

But caution is being taken with Barnton’s stadium pitch due to the current period of prolonged wet weather.

“We are mindful of the wet weather and the impact on the pitch, especially with four games due on it this week,” says an 1874 statement.

“We thank everyone for their co-operation and we will organise a new date in due course.”

This is the second game in a row that has been postponed for Vics, whose scheduled Midland League Premier Division trip to Bewdley Town at the weekend fell victim to the weather.

1874 will next be in action at home to Bootle in Northern Premier League West on Saturday, kick-off 3pm, while Vics will be away to Darlaston Town.

Vics’ game was originally scheduled to be at home but has been switched.
