1874 Northwich have confirmed their first new recruit for the 2023-24 season.
Full-back Joe Hurst, 20, has come on board from Northern Premier League rivals Newcastle Town, with whom he made 17 appearances last season.
He came through the academies of Manchester United, Rochdale and Morecambe.
1874 co-manager Paul Bowyer said: “Joe is calm on the ball, solid defensively and likes to support in attack.”
There is more good news for 1874 fans, with club captain Matt Woolley, fan favourite Matthew Fenton and tricky winger Isaac Noble agreeing new terms for the season ahead, along with goalkeeper Ellis Allen signing forms.
Allen, a popular figure since joining the club last season from Whitchurch Alport, returned to training with the club this summer after recovering from serious injuries sustained in an accident last year.
“I’m buzzing to be back again this year," he said.
"I believe in the project that Wayne (Goodison, co-manager) and Bows (Bowyer) have set out. The way they like to play suits my style.
“Most importantly I can’t wait to be playing in front of the fans at 74 again this year.”
Woolley's confirmed stay will be seen as a crucial piece of business.
The central midfielder is a consistent performer and the club's record appearance holder, with 367 games under his belt, since joining in 2014.
He was signed from Cheshire League side Knutsford FC but also had spells at Congleton Town and Alsager, Witton Albion and FC Halifax Town.
Fellow Northwich lad Fenton came through the 1874 under 21s ranks after spending his youth career at Crewe Alexandra.
Noble, 21, made the step up to the first team at the end of the 2021/22 campaign and made 22 appearances for 1874 last season.
1874 season tickets are now available to buy.
The tickets are valid for all 19 home league games for the price of 15 matches.
Adult tickets (£150) and concession (65+) tickets (£90) also include two 'Bring a Mate' tokens.
Junior tickets (£15) are for 12 to 16 year olds, with under 12s not needing a ticket as they gain free admission.
Tickets can be bought on the club's website at 1874northwich.com/23-24-season-tickets/
