WITTON Albion returned to match action at the weekend as their pre-season friendly campaign got underway.
Despite a top-quality finish from Joe Duckworth giving Witton a half-time lead at home to Radcliffe on Saturday, Jon Macken’s side fell 3-1.
The visitors fielded a completely different starting XI in the second period.
Witton did similar on Tuesday night against Barnton, making 10 changes at the interval.
Albion conceded two goals in each half, losing 4-0.
Fixtures now come thick and fast for Witton, who narrowly missed out on the Northern Premier League Premier Division play-offs last season.
Albion are back at the U Lock It Stadium on Saturday to host neighbours Winsford Town, kick-off 3pm.
Next Monday Witton will visit Stockport Town, kick-off 7.30pm.
