Match Pointers
WITTON Albion hope to score a third successive league in on the road at Carlton Town tomorrow, Saturday.

Gary Finley’s depleted team were 3-0 winners at Willenhall Town in midweek – their third victory over the league’s wooden spoonists in league and cup this season – to move back up to second spot in the UniBond League’s Division One South.

He hopes to recover Mike Moseley working away in midweek, in time for tomorrow’s trip, while Lee Neville and Stuart Rudd are back after a one-match suspension.

Brad Maylett, another absentee on Tuesday, should return too.

Finley handed a debut to former Northwich Victoria and Middlewich Town midfielder Ryan Broadhead at Willenhall to cover the expected exit of Steve Hall.

Opponents Carlton have won all but one of the league matches in front of their own fans this season and bounced back from last week’s FA Trophy exit with a 4-3 win over Lincoln United.

They have scored nine times in their past two league outings.

Only once, for the visit of table-toppers Sheffield FC in August, has their crowd swelled to three figures. Witton, the best supported team on their travels in the division, will make sure it passes 100 once more.
