Match Pointers
NORTHWICH Victoria will be forced to make at least two changes to the team that started at Stafford Rangers a week ago.

Skipper Simon Grand and top scorer Mark Danks both serve one-match bans.

Mat Bailey is likely to be partnered in the centre of defence by Nat Kerr while Jon Newby, who netted his first league goal for Northwich in last weekend’s 2-2 draw, is set to stand in for Danks.

Lee Elam, who failed a fitness test on a groin injury before the trip to Marston Road, is likely to return to the starting line along with midfield enforcer Ian Herring.

Wayne Riley would be the man to miss out.

Jonny Allan (knee) and Michael Connor (dead leg) did not train during the early part of this week but they, along with Declan Edwards (ankle) should be available for selection.

Visitors Charlton are likely to field a full-strength side to reduce the risk of a huge upset.

First choice keeper Rob Elliot (thigh) is out for six weeks after tearing an adductor muscle last month, while on-loan Chris Ikeme has been refused permission to play. Dave Randolph stands by

Dave Mooney, on loan from Reading, is another to be cup tied.

Leon McKenzie and Frazer Richardson (both thigh) missed last weekend’s 3-1 defeat at Carlisle United, while Chris Solly (knee) is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines following a training ground accident.

Top scorer Deon Burton has continued to figure despite needing a hernia operation, although the Addicks have yet to set a date for him to go under the knife.

Vics fans will recognise Scott Wagstaff, who featured in five Blue Square Premier matches for Northwich under Steve King last November, although another familiar face from non-league – Stuart Fleetwood – is currently out on loan at Exeter City.

Jonjo Shelvey, a second half substitute at Brunton Park, is also pushing for a start.
