MARK Danks has been rewarded for his fine form by winning the Blue Square North’s Player of the Month prize for October.

The Northwich Victoria front runner scored seven goals in five league and cup starts throughout the month, taking his season tally to 16 in all competitions.

He got the nod despite his dismissal against Stafford Rangers at the weekend.

The 25-year-old, who arrived at the Victoria Stadium in the summer from AFC Telford United, has found the net in every game he has played since the start of September.

That’s a run of nine successive matches.

It’s his second personal accolade of the campaign too after he was picked by fans as the E.ON Player of the Round following his five-goals haul against Bardon Hill Sports in the FA Cup Second Qualifying Round in September.

Vics beat the Leicestershire minnows 5-0.

He added a hat-trick against Chorley in the following round before scoring from the spot to send Vics on their way to a 3-0 win over FC United of Manchester.

However a one-match suspension for picking up five cautions, plus a further three-matches ban as punishment for his sending off at Marston Road, means he will sit out almost all of November.
