FROM three-year-olds to senior internationals, it seems many are enjoying success at Cheshire Gymnastics.

Ethan Spencer, 17, represented the senior England tumbling squad at the Sevran Cup in Paris and came home with a bronze medal after finishing first in his qualifying group over a long weekend of action.

Twelve countries and 280 of the highest standard gymnasts across Europe took part.

That followed hot on the heels of Alisha Evanson, 22, one of the club’s coaches as well as competitors, achieving a bronze medal for Great Britain’s senior women’s tumbling team in the Loulé Cup International in Portugal.

Both are coached at the Moss Farm Gymnastics Performance Centre in Moss Lane by Mark Hudson.

At the other end of the spectrum and the club’s inclusive recreational programme, little Quentin Rothwell has recently passed his RISE - a British Gymnastics award scheme - at the age of three.

Laura Hudson, director of Cheshire Gymnastics, said: “It’s never too young to start and with gymnastics being nationally recognised as the fundamental sport for all other sports we say with absolute conviction that getting children into a high quality gymnastics club as early as possible is the best thing any parent can do for not only mental and physical health but also discipline, team work and helping to build great resilient citizens of the future!”
