NORTHWICH rider David Carson added a second title on the final weekend of racing to cap another successful Darley Moor campaign

The 44-year-old rider for The TwoDavesRacing.com team, based in Wincham, successfully defended last year’s ‘Darley Cup’ club champions success when he recorded two victories at the Darley Moor circuit, near Ashbourne.

Carson had already secured the Championship for 655–700cc machines, while the weekend’s action confirmed his third-place finish in the Open 600cc category.

In the Darley Cup on Saturday, Carson – 26 points ahead of his only championship rival, Nick Clare, from Winsford was never headed and went on to take the overall victory, stretching a 26-point advantage out to 41pts due to Clare failing to complete the opening lap.

The second race allowed Carson to be crowned champion before the flag had dropped, with Clare unable to make the grid.

Not that it stopped Carson from recording another start-finish victory.

Although Carson had already secured the Championship for 655–700cc machines it wasn’t going to stop a battle towards the front of the field to keep the spectators entertained.

Carson finished third in the first race but won the second.
