NORTHWICH Victoria committed daylight robbery in Solihull on Saturday afternoon.

It was a smash-and-grab of the most clinical kind, as two goals in added time earned them their second win of the season against Highgate United in the Midland League Premier Division.

Four minutes into overtime, Vics were looking like heading north up the M6 fruitless.

However, Mama Djabi’s goal seemed to have earned Matt Barnes’ side a point after Sam Unwin’s goal two minutes into the second half had halved the deficit.

But no, there was still time for a winner and in the sixth minute of added time teenage striker Jackson Kelly nailed his goal-bound effort – his first goal for the club on his second appearance of the season after arriving from Stoke City Under 18s.

The victory moved Vics five places up the table to 10th.

Winsford United returned to winning ways in style.

Blues defeated Market Drayton Town 4-1 at Barton Stadium, with Matty Birchall netting twice on his debut.

His goals in the 15th and 23rd minutes gave Winsford a 2-0 lead but Joel Reece responded for the visitors in the 38th minute.

The two-goal cushion was restored courtesy of Jack Woolley in added time at the end of the first half.

Elliott Coleman completed the job with his 90th-minute goal.

An impressive statistic is that Blues have now only conceded three goals in their last eight matches.

They have climbed one place to third in North West Counties League First Division South, three points behind new leaders Stafford Town who were 3-2 winners at home to Barnton.

The Villagers never led but kept snapping at Stafford’s heels, with goals from Mathew Welding (36mins) and Tom Turkington (75mins) wiping out lead-taking home goals from Scott Wilding (23) and Joshua Wilson (52).

The contest was settled by Matthew Hearsey’s 81st-minute strike for the hosts.
