AFTER a slightly disappointing second half to the Isle of Man TT, Pete Founds and passenger Jevan Walmsley returned to their domestic series as they headed to the coastal circuit of Trac Môn on the Welsh island of Anglesey for round two of the British F2 Championship.

With the FHO Racing Honda still pretty much in TT trim, the lads wasted no time in setting the pace as they sauntered out for qualifying at the back of the grid, then simply put the No72 machine on pole position with relative ease.

Race one on Saturday brought the usual competition of Crawford and Hardie as well as the Ramsdens for the championship leaders but as the lights went out Founds and Walmsley kept their place into the first bend and immediately started to stretch the field.

By lap three of the 12-lap race, they had pulled a two-second lead and although there was little excitement at the front. It ended up another dominant win for the Team Founds 72 bike.

Sunday saw the second race around midday and with perfect conditions, it was hard not to expect the inevitable.

This year, reverse grids are a thing of the past, so another pole position start for Founds and Walmsley and as the lights turned green, they were off like a rocket.

This time they turned the screw even faster as they pulled away from the off and disappeared up to road to win by more than 10 seconds.

So another 50 points haul, and a new lap record to boot, was not a bad day at the office.

The team head back to the Isle of Man in a few weeks’ time to defend their Southern 100 crown.
