CASTLE Sports A cemented their place at the top of the Mid Cheshire Crown Green Bowling League Premier Division with a destruction of their opponents.

Castle had 10 winners out of 10 in their home match against Helsby A, with the score ending 210-65.

Wharton Cons A had a great win at Alsager 200-132. Cons had eight out of 10 winners.

Crewe PO A triumphed at Rudheath, with the visitors having seven out of 10 winners. The final score saw the Rudheath team losing 170-190.

Kingswood BC succeeded at home against Castle Sports B, winning 176-144.

Middlewich Community BC had a close home win against Owley Wood A. The home side won six out of the 10 matches, taking the match 178-169.

Two teams remain unbeaten in the Mid Cheshire league.

In Section Two, Victoria had eight winners at home to Moulton RBL A, with the hosts taking the tie 201-151.

Comberbach C in Section 4 just kept their unbeaten record at Winnington B in a close match, with both teams having five winners. The final score was Winnington 158 Comberbach C 163.

Mid Cheshire Ladies Crown Green Bowling League

It was a first versus second clash in the Mid Cheshire Ladies, with Red Lion travelling to second place Winnington. Red Lion won five of the eight matches but posted their lowest score of the season, winning 132-120.

In Division Two, second place Barnton B won at home to Hartford 159-113 which keeps them in second place behind Moulton Ladies, who played two games this week.

On Monday they had a home victory against Rode Heath Barnton, 158-102. The following night they had another home game against Norley B with Moulton just coming out winners 129-125.

That was Norley B’s second game of the week after winning away at Bostock ladies 127-134.
