TWO local lads are set to battle it out in one class as the Darley Moor Motorcycle Road Race Club championship prepares to burst into life again.

Competitors will once again descend on the Derbyshire circuit for rounds three and four of the championship this, two months after the campaign got underway.

And in the Darley Cup standings, Northwich rider David Carson is leading from Winsford’s Nick Clare.

A double victory in the Darley Cup class last time out means Carson sits on 30 points, with Clare just behind on 24 as both riders also sit well-placed in other classes.

Carson also sits atop the standings in the Twin Cylinder 655–700cc class after a double victory while he is also lining up the Open 600 class in which he currently sits third behind joint-leaders Mark Goodings and Joe Holdsworth.

As well as the Darley Cup, Clare is also second in the Pre-Electronic 600cc 2024 class behind leader Adam Sherriff.

The on-track action begins at 10am on Saturday, with the first race scheduled for 11.30am.

Weekend camping tickets are also an option, with the site open from Friday afternoon until Monday morning. Camping costs £7 per night, or £6 if booked in advance.
