A TEAM of international cricket legends are set to turn out at Middlewich Cricket Club to help raise much-needed club funds.
Later this year, the renowned Lashings World XI will face the Middlewich first XI in a T20 match to help raise money for the development of a new clubhouse at Haddon Field.
The match, which is likely to include cricketing legends such as West Indies’ Sir Gordon Greenidge, Pakistan’s Saqlain Mushtaq and England’s John Embury, takes place at Middlewich CC on Friday, July 19.
The match will also feature commentary from legendary cricket broadcaster Henry Blofeld – the voice of the BBC’s “Test Match Special” programme for several decades.
The match will follow a three-course lunch at the ground hosted by the Lashings players, which will include a charity auction.
Tables and individual tickets for the lunch are available as well as general admission tickets to watch the match. To purchase, please email lashings@middlewichcricketclub.co.uk
The following day – Saturday, July 20 – footballing icon Kevin Keegan will visit the club to share stories from his phenomenal career complete with an audience Q&A session and a pie and mash dinner.
Tickets for that event can be purchased by visiting Middlewich Cricket Club’s Facebook page.
