THE first time was so nice, they just had to do it twice!

It is double delight for the women’s first team at Winnington Park Hockey Club, who are celebrating securing back-to-back promotions.

They will play in Division One of the North West League next season having secured their league title with three games to spare, with a convincing 5-0 victory over Bolton sealing the deal.

For a team that was newly promoted to Division Two having earned promotion the previous season, it is some achievement.

And in addition to that, the ladies also brought the Cheshire Plate back to Winnington Park earlier in the season as part of a combined team with the club’s women’s seconds.

Their final game of a glorious season is next Saturday – April 6 – when they take on Liverpool Sefton.
