DAVID Carson is gearing up for a busy campaign after his most successful season yet in 2023.

The 44-year-old rider for The TwoDavesRacing.com team, based in Wincham, will be competing with three different organisations this term.

As per previous seasons they plan to race with Darley Moor, as well as revisiting Wirral 100 and Aintree.

Racing with three clubs means that their Kawasaki ZX6R ‘Supersport’ bike along with their Aprilia RS660 Trofeo ‘Supertwin’ machine will be tackling eight different race classes/championships!

And they will be aiming to compete in the prestigious ‘Stars at Darley’ event at the close of the season.

Darley Moor have changed some of their championship classes for the 2024 season, so they will compete in the Open 600 with their Kawasaki and the Darley Cup as well as 700cc Twins aboard the Aprilia.

At Aintree they will take on the Supersport 600 with the Kawasaki as well as the 700 Twins and 750 Twins with the Aprilia.

And at Wirral 100 they will participate in Club Supersport Pre-2010 using their Kawasaki and 820cc Twins riding the Aprilia.

Last year, riding his new 2022 factory-built Aprilia, Carson secured silverware twice having won both the NG Road Racing ‘Supertwins’ and Darley Moor ‘Twins’ championships.

He had won both before but had never secured championships with multiple clubs in the same season until 2023.

Final championship results 2023: Darley Moor 'Darley Cup' club champions, Darley Moor '700cc Twins' club champions, Darley Moor 'Formula 600' - 2nd in championship, NG Road Racing 'Supertwin' - 3rd in championship, NG Road Racing 'Open 600cc' - 5th in championship.

Carson and the team earned 29 ‘end of year’ trophies, which included 16 club championship trophies, from five different organisations: 23 from Darley Moor (11 Championships and 12 runner-up), three from NG Road Racing (two Championships and third-place), one from Wirral 100, one from Auto 66, one from Junior Roadracing Association.

During the year they added to their tally of race wins another 22 victories to reach a new total of 161 club race wins throughout Carson’s 25-year career.
