DAVENHAM beat Christleton by three wickets to take second place in the Cheshire County Cricket League’s Division Two at Butcher’s Stile on Saturday.
Christleton were bowled out for 151, with Mohammed Abid 7-41, and replied with 152-7 which included Brian Dowling 41.
Also in Division Two, Haslington confirmed top spot with a 102-run win at Mobberley.
In Division Three, Northwich kept up their winning ways with a two-wicket success at Upton with Glinoj Cherian taking 4-36 and Hari Vizwanathan not out 43.
Winnington Park are also on the up, beating Kingsley at the Rec by four wickets. Matt Georgh struck 74.
Oakmere won by eight wickets at Barrow, while Warrington lost by 137 runs at Ashley.
Oulton were defeated by three wickets at Bramhall, despite Nick Cantello's 95 not out.
Leaders Bowdon lost by seven wickets at Lindow, for whom James Duffy hit 135 not out.
Up in the Premier Division, Toft won comfortably at Brooklands, while Grappenhall lost by eight wickets at home to Nantwich.
Didsbury returned to top place in the table after beating Oxton, while the only divisional century of the day was Cheadle’s Andrej Yakenden who cracked 114 to knock Neston off top spot.
