VALE Royal Athletics Club competitors have been showing some fine form.
Some excellent wins, medal successes and personal bests were achieved during May, along with a course record and some club records.
Jake Wilson went ender 15 minutes for the first time for the 5K, clocking 14mins 54secs in the Podium 5K, Leicester.
Over in the United States, Holly Smith, competing for Iona College at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships in Maryland, ran a personal best 37mins 13.47secs for the 10000m.
Also in the States, Tessa McCormick improved her 5000m personal best at the Mount SAC Track Fest in Walnut, California, registering 16mins 01.66secs.
Nearer to home, Ed Shepherd was victories in the Alderley Edge Bypass 10K while Aaron Doyle knocked 30 seconds off his personal best in finishing fourth.
Aaron also took the Doyle family record from his father, Stu.
Nevertheless, Stu, despite struggling with glute and hamstring issues, was first vet 50 over the line.
Julia Hartley broke her PB and was also first vet 50 woman.
Anna Begbie was seventh woman and first vet 40.
Meanwhile, Arun Dight won the second fixture of the Cheshire Road Race Grand Prix series in Chester.
Eight gold medals, four silver and two bronze were won by Vale Royal athletes in the Cheshire Track and Field Championships at West Cheshire's track in Ellesmere Port.

Anna Begbie raced a hilly 10K in Lancashire where all finishers received some cheese and the main prize winners received even more cheese.
She came away from the Blacksticks Blue 10K, Preston, with lots of cheese through being the first woman over the line and 20th overall.
Rob Roe was second overall to Gavin Tomlinson in the annual Middlewich 5K race, taking the prize as the first vet 40.
Sharon Lynskey was second VF40, Debbie Moreton the first first VF50 and Louise Walker the third VF40.
Keely Hodgkinson, Steve Cram and Jenny Meadows were among those watching as 28 Vale Royal athletes tackled the first Trafford AC Grand Prix of the outdoor season.
Both Holly Weedall (3000m) and Patrick Griffith (800m) achieved English Schools’ entry standard in their respective events.
Tom Corwood slipped under the 800m two-minute barrier for the first time with his second PB in three days, while Zoe Broughton dipped under the 1500m five-minute barrier, knocking eight seconds off her PB.
Samuel Conkie also delivered a personal best in winning his 800m heat.
Eighteen of the club’s athletes contested the Christleton 5K near Chester.
Chris Williams was fifth overall, setting a new personal best and going to 11th on the club all-time list for the distance.
Chris Standidge also improved his PB to 15mins 37secs and took the club record for a VM40.
Sarah Murphy took the VF45 all-time club record with 18mins 14secs.
Elsewhere, Chloe Dooley celebrated a personal best as she finished 20th woman in the Manchester 10K Ed Shepherd clinched third place in the Chester Half Marathon, while Abigail Howarth came second woman and achieved a personal best 79mins 39secs.
Arun Dight headed the field at the Dunham Massey 5K, breaking the course record in the process with his 15mins 39secs.
Helen Smith was fourth woman and first VF50, while Barry Chambers was third VM70 The British Miler's Club held their first grand prix of the outdoor season at Sportcity where Patrick Griffiths achieved the sub 1:54 clocking required by English Schools.
Sophie Harding also ran inside the ES standard of 2:16 in her 800m race.
