NORTHWICH delighted a bumper crowd at their Moss Farm open day on Saturday when they scored their first victory since returning to the Cheshire County Cricket League.
In excellent playing conditions, Nortwich mustered a modest 167 against their Warrington visitors, top scorer being record breaker Pranav Dinawade with 38.
Dinawade once scored 1,000 runs in a single match in his Indian home town.
Warrington struggled to 108 in reply, Thakia Davids 38, Hari Viswanathan, 5-35.
Playing a mile away also in Division Three, Winnington Park beat MarItime by 20 runs, Travis Scholes, 67 and 3-29.
Oakmere lost by one run at Tattenhall, where they replied with 216-4 - with Richard Lyons 131 - to their hosts' 217-6, Brian Taylor 146 not out.
In Division Two, Davenham totalled 196 against Ashton on Mersey and lost by 20 runs. Mo Abbott 50.
Up in Division One, Bowdon stay top after trouncing Oulton Park by eight wickets. Park were bowled out for 207, Frank Farrington 86, Andy Dufty 63, before the leaders’ 208-2.
In the Premier Division, Neston’s lead remains at one point over Didsbury.
They replied with 221-9 Guy Bradshaw 75, to Toft’s 218-9, Ewan Williams 55. Victory was secured off the penultimate delivery.
Ed Newman scored 105 in Didsbury’s win against Cheadle and Alderley Edge replied witth 221-6 to Oxton’s 220.
Grappenhall piled up 238 at home to Chester before completing a 50-run win, Tom McCrory 4-60.
Nantwich won by seven wickets at Brooklands, Steve Green 5-58.
A total total of 537 runs were scored at Widnes where the home piled up 268, Luke McCoy 102. Hyde responded with 269-6, Luke Young 81.
Nine of the 12 innings in this divisdon rendered 400-plus runs.
