TO help launch plans for their bicentenary in 2026, Northwich Cricket Club are planning an open day at Moss Farm on Saturday, writes Mike Talbot-Butler.

Newly-elected chairman Ian Grasby and his committee are inviting all district sports clubs and businesses to enjoy the club's ground and facilities during a Cheshire County League fixture against old rivals Warrington from midday.

Northwich, whose Indian overseas star Pranav Dhanawade is showing early promise, are currently struggling at the foot of Division Three, yet forced a draw in their game at Oakmere on Saturday.

They replied with 122-9, Nick Guest 5-27, after Oakmere had closed on 191-7, Slade Mitrovich a fine 95 not out.

Also in Division Three, Winnington Park's Cory Devanny struck 141 and Jason Holgate 61 in a total of 309-5, Barrow later holding out with 152-9, Ryan McLean 57.

Warrington replied with 100-5 (Pat Tyrell 46) to top Kingsley's 98 - Matt Dunning 46, Umer Zeb 4-25.

Heaton Mesey top the table by nine points after winning by five wickets at Ashley.

Mobberley lead Division Two after a nine-wicket win at Hale Barns, Abdul Aqueel 4-44, while Davenham rise to third after winning by two wickets at home to Bollington. Davenham continued their improvement with a two wickets win in a bowlers' game at home to Bollington.

In Division One, Oulton Park posted a two wickets home win over Congleton, dismissed for 136, with Andy Dufty 4-28. Park replied with 138-8, Pat Roberts a match-winning 36 not out.

Alvanley lost by 60 runs at home to Bowdon, being dismissed for 98 in reply to 158, with Mike Rowlands claiming 5-23.

Sale lead the table by 18 points after a seven wickets win at Romiley.

In the Premier Division, Alderley Edge hit the season's highest tally with 331-6 at leaders Neston, with Sam Perry 143, Tom Foreman 75. Neston replied with 244-6, Dane Williams 65.

Toft were trounced by nine wickets at Hyde after being dismissed for 105, Rohan Fernando 32.

Chester Boughton Hall replied with 254-3 (Alex Money 118) to Widnes' 253-8, Matt Burns 75.

Grappenhall lost by three wickets at Cheadle, who replied with 116-7 (Dan Brown 65) to their 115 all out, Ben Bonha 75.

Didsbury scraped home by one wicket at Brooklands and Oxcon by two wickets at Nantwich.

Davenham report an exciting T20 win against Oakmere in midweek.

With Muhammad Abid 2-10, James Jones 2-17 and Dean Jackson 1-35 all taking wickets, DCC held Oakmere to 140, even with the opening batsmen James Hodkinson 45 and Slade Mitrovich sending balls over the clubhouse.

DCC then replied with player-of-the-match Regan Johnson scoring 35 and Matt Jamieson adding 26, with just five balls left the team finished as match winners.
