GOOD weather enabled a full programme of 24 fixtures to be played in the four divisions when the Cheshire County Cricket League got underway on Saturday.

In the ECB Premier Division, reigning champions Didsbury started well with a 22-run win against Alderdley Edge.

Toft won by four wickets at promoted Grappenhall after Tom Forster took 4-22.

In Division One, demoted Oulton Park lost by three wickets at Timperley.

Division Three saw Davenham start well with a three-wicket home win against Haslington, Ben Gough taking 4-12.

Division Two saw Oakmere win by 23 runs at Hawk Green, while Winnington Park beat Tattenhall by 77 runs, Travis Scholes scoring 50 and Scott Edwards taking a best of the day 6-23.

Demoted Warrington lost by five wickets at Maritime in Wirral.
