NORTHWICH boxer Luke Caffrey extended the perfect start to his professional career with a destructive display in Partington on Sunday.
The 26-year-old made it four wins from four with a first-round stoppage against Mwenya Chisanga at the Fuse Roc Centre.
Caffrey was relentless from the opening bell and the referee was forced to step in to prevent further damage to Chisanga after just 2mins 38secs.
Now, the super lightweight wants big opportunities and said: “I’m obviously delighted to make it four wins from four and gain my first stoppage, but I won’t be celebrating long.
"The aim of this fight was to make a statement that I’m ready to take that next step and fight for championships. I think I’ve done that now and I can’t wait to get back in the ring.
"I couldn’t be in any better shape and I want to ride this momentum and fight again as soon as I can.
"This is a sport where you’re always learning and you always respect your opponent, but I’m ready for whoever they put in my way."
Caffrey trains under respected coach Frank Collins at Boxing Fit Academy in Lostock and the performance was one that impressed a demanding corner man.
"It’s been tough for Luke with so many fights cancelled last year but I could see his fierce determination all through training camp," said Collins.
"He sets himself incredibly high standards and works so hard morning, moon and night.
"The intensity in his training has been phenomenal and the sky is the limit for him."
