WINNINGTON Park Hockey Club mixed team travelled two hours to the University of York for their last 32 contest in the England Hockey Tier 2 Mixed Knockout Championships.
The Park team, made up of men and women from the club's first and second teams, had already got passed Bebbington and Wigan to get to this stage.
A tough match ensued with constant pressure from both teams.
York's keeper showed cat-like reactions to save shot after shot, saving a top corner effort from Jaz Barlow while also producing a beautiful double-shot save from captain Adam Jones.
After a 0-0 first half, York broke the deadlock with a nice play.
Winnington Park pushed at York but could not get past their player-of-the-match keeper.
Park's player of the match was Gus Micklewirght and the player of the tournament for Park was Poppy Curran.
