BARNTON Squash are celebrating league title success.

The third team have been crowned 2023 Division Five winners in the North West Counties League and will be playing at a higher level next season.

After a shaky start to the campaign, losing three of the first four matches, Barnton went on a 17-game winning run to finish top by 12 points and gain promotion to the fourth division when the new season starts in September.

With the first team also going for promotion to the first division, these are exciting times at Barnton Squash.

The second team are also enjoying a solid campaign mid-table in the third division after gaining promotion last year.

Because of the current success and new players joining there are plans to start a fourth team which will join the fifth division next term.

The club are keen to attract new players to the only squash courts in Northwich, based in the grounds of Barnton Cricket Club.

Barnton Cricket also has active sports sections in bowls, women's darts, junior and open-age cricket, with a social club too.
