1874 NORTHWICH fell to their first defeat of the Northern Premier League West Division campaign this afternoon.
They were beaten 1-0 at Colne – the side who knocked Greens out of the FA Cup earlier this season – thanks to Jack Doherty’s goal midway through the second half.
Meanwhile, Witton Albion were also beaten this afternoon as they succumbed to a 2-0 loss to Mossley at the U Lock It Stadium.
Jack Banister and Andy Keogh struck for the visitors, who climbed to the top of the table as a result.
In the North West Counties League, Northwich Victoria’s excellent Premier Division form continued as they hit six at Ashton Athletic.
Matt Dudley scored a hat-trick in a 6-2 win for Vics – their fifth in a row in the league – as Steve Wilkes’ side stormed away in the second half.
They had opened the scoring through an own goal just before half time, with Marios Avraam and Matty Birchall also on target late on.
Sadly, Winsford United were on the end hammering as they were thrashed 7-0 at Wythenshawe Town, for whom Matthew Bryan scored a hat-trick.
In the First Division South, Harvey Sample’s first-half double ensured Barnton’s solid form continued with a 2-0 victory over Alsager Town at Townfield.
