WITTON Albion claimed a vital win in their bid to avoid relegation this afternoon.
Rob Hopley marked his 200th appearance for the club in style by bagging two goals in a 3-2 away win at Grantham Town, who sit bottom of the Northern Premier League table.
But it took a dramatic fightback to claim the three points, Albion having been 2-0 down after half an hour after goals from Sisa Tuntulawana and Ricky Miller.
Josh Wardle crucially pulled one back on 40 minutes to make it 2-1 at half time.
But Albion trailed until the 76th minute, when Hopley bagged his first.
He then followed this up with a dramatic late winner in the 85th minute.
In the NPL West Division, 1874 Northwich drew 2-2 at home with City of Liverpool.
1874 went behind in the 22nd minute to a Jack Hazlehurst goal before Jamie Reed equalised from the penalty spot on the stroke of half time.
The Liverpudlians then went ahead again after 49 minutes thank to Josh Quarless.
But Lee Knight struck with five minutes to go to ensure that the points were shared.
Meanwhile, Northwich Victoria went down 1-0 at home to Prestwich Heys after Scot Cullen netted in the 70th minute.
And Barnton lost 2-0 at Eccleshall after a first half brace from Liam Robinson.
