ALL Cheshire’s matches in the National Counties T20 competition have now been cancelled due to travel problems caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
Cheshire had been due to play Staffordshire at Nantwich on April 25, Cumbria at Barrow on May 2, Northumberland at Bowdon on May 9 and Shropshire at Whitchurch on May 23, followed by a provisional final at Tring on June 24.
This decision throws into doubt the start of Cheshire’s Over 50s Trophy fixtures starting against Cumbria at Didsbury on May 30 followed by three further games, plus the three-day county championship which starts with Cheshire v Dorset at Oxton on July 11.
Only one Cheshire County Cricket League game survived the rain on Saturday, the remaining 17 being cancelled.
Some play was possible for Toft at Oxton, where both sides were allowed 30 overs’ batting.
Toft scored 153-6 (James Drummond 37, James Scott 4-93, Henry Dobson 3-37) and Oxton reached 150-6 in reply.
The visitors collected 12 points compared to Oxton’s 7.
Fixtures for Saturday, noon start:
