WITTON Albion put up a stern fight against a side currently mixing it with European rivals in their latest pre-season friendly.
Welsh side Bala Town were the visitors to Wincham Park on Saturday as they build towards a tie against Belgian giants Standard Liege in the Europa League qualifying round.
Will Evans' goal meant the visitors managed a 1-0 win, but Witton boss Carl Macauley would have been pleased with how his side competed.
