ATHLETES from across the world competed for a trophy named in memory of a Northwich-born runner last week.
Friday’s Mid-Cheshire 5km road race in Kingsley saw race winner Adam Craig presented with the Nick Jones Trophy – named after the Warrington Athletics Club runner who passed away earlier this year.
Craig, of Inverclyde Athletic Club in Scotland, picked up the trophy having completed the course in 13mins 52secs while the women’s race was won by Gerda Steyn, who represents the Nedbank Running Club of East London, South Africa and clocked 15mins 44secs.
