NORTHWICH Victoria are celebrating tonight.
Steve Wilkes' side defeated neighbours Winsford United on penalties 4-3 to lift the Mid-Cheshire District FA Senior Cup at Wincham Park.
It is the first trophy success since fans took ownership of the club.
The contest finished 1-1 at full-time, with Vics coming back from behind.
Eleven minutes after conceding to David Short (73), Wilkes was rewarded for three substitutions leading up to the equaliser.
On came Harvey Whyte, Jordan Darr and Brian Matthews for Dom Craig, John Connolly and Darhyll Mason as a reply was sought.
When it came, it was from a set-piece.
Kieron Kenny nodded home from a corner.
Chances to win the tie before the final whistle were few and far between and it came down to a penalty shoot-out, without a period of extra-time being played.
It was 3-3 after each side's opening five kicks at goal and upon the arrival of sudden death Winsford United missed and Vics needed no further invitation to settle the outcome.
