HOLLY Weedall made a promising start to the summer season when she claimed a medal at the Mini London Marathon.
The Vale Royal Athletics Club member, a reigning national cross-country champion in her age-group category, took second place in the under 15s girls’ race along the streets of the capital on Sunday.
She stopped the clock in 16:40 after following Beatrice Wood over the line.
Weedall, a victor in the under 13s girls’ race in 2018, again represented the North West when she took to the last three miles of the marathon course for the British Athletics Road Championship.

Jake Wilson, also a Vale Royal runner, was part of a North West quartet that shared the under 15s boys' team title with rivals from London and the North East after finishing in 33rd position.
