A NEW name appears on the men's race honours list after Saturday's Cheshire Cross Country Championships in Warrington.
Woodford Green AC with Essex Ladies runner Ed Shepherd, who trains with Vale Royal Athletics Club after moving to Chester, ended Warringtonian Dan Cliffe's five-year reign at Birchwood Forest Park.

Shepherd took charge on lap three and finished 20 seconds clear of Sale Harriers' Nigel Martin, who was a further 24 seconds clear of Liverpool Harriers' Cliffe, who finished outside of the county championship's top two for the first time in his career.
