WITTON Albion progressed in the FA Trophy on Saturday after dispatching a familiar foe in the form of AFC Rushden & Diamonds.
A goal from Cesaire before the break, after he ran onto Tom Owens’ pass, set Carl Macauley’s men on a course for the third round of qualifying.
And they were more assured of their destination when unfortunate full-back Zack Reynolds sliced Danny McKenna’s cross into his own net with 20 minutes left.
There had been a blow for the home team when Rob Hopley succumbed to an injury, but they protected their lead to progress and with it bank £4,000 in prize money.
Who stood out for you in Witton’s colours?
