BARNTON Wanderers, the defending champions, started a new Crewe and District League campaign on a winning note at the weekend.
Goals from Jamie Pasquille and Craig Smith separated them from their Northwich neighbours Clock Tower.
Winsford Saxons, seeking to recapture a Premier Division crown they took in successive seasons in 2016 and again the following year, collected maximum points from their meeting with Sandbach Town.
Alex Townhill, Charlie Woodward and Terry Cain were on target.
Winnington Avenue endured a debut to forget, going down 11-1 to their hosts Sandbach Curshaws.
