Match of the Day
Northwich v Weaverham (from 1pm)
Weaverham have lost twice this season in league and cup against their neighbours and the Russets would dearly love to make it third time lucky.
The Russets make a short trip to Moss Farm occupying a place in the Cheshire County League third division’s drop zone and 14 points adrift of Tattenhall ahead of them.
With six games left, Ian Eaton’s men have work to do to avoid being relegated for a second successive summer.
Their hosts sit seventh, although an incentive for them is a probable position in the table’s top-half if they can record a seventh league win.
It’s an important afternoon for…
Kingsley (home to Port Sunlight, from 1pm)
The Crofters have won their past six matches in the Cheshire League’s top-flight, although their progress in recent weeks is likely to be examined thoroughly by their guests on Saturday.
Port Sunlight have prevailed in each of the past five meetings between the teams, and have bowled out Toby Mullins’ men for less than 80 on four of those occasions.
The skipper told the Guardian in an interview this week that his side needs to rid themselves of an apparent mental block against these opponents.
And what about…
Oulton Park (home to Bramhall, from 12.30pm)
If Patrick Roberts’ men can rack up another win – they have prevailed in two of their past three matches in the Cheshire County League’s top-flight – then they may become upwardly mobile again in the table.
They saw off Marple last week, and were comfortably eight-wicket victors against Bramhall when the teams met in May.
Muhammad Shahbaz and Tom Hyslop both scored half-centuries on that occasion.
Why not go and give your local side some support?
