BARNTON’S batsmen put their team in a winning position when Prestbury visited Broomsedge on Saturday.
The home team posted 214-5 after winning the toss, a partnership worth 99 runs for the fourth wicket between in-form Sam Connop (76no) and Pat Flanagan (54) providing the highlight.
First-change bowler Andrew Leese (4-39) claimed the wickets of three top-order batsmen after Neil Langham (1-25) had broken through, and the visitors fell for 131.
Skipper Simon Hancock (3-4 off three overs) finished the job.
Kingsley wasted no time knocking over Lymm in another Division One fixture, skittling their hosts for 62 after winning the toss.
Hayden Lanza (5-33) took four wickets in as many overs to leave the home team scrambling at 27-8 before tail-ender Matthew Bradshaw (32no) stood defiant.
However he ran out of partners quickly thanks to Adrian Burden (2-6), while Ben Stoddart claimed 3-11.
The latter plundered 28 runs off 10 balls to set the visitors on a course for a five-wicket victory secured with Kingsley Warman (16no) at the crease.

Oakmere extended a winning sequence in Division Two to eight matches following a comfortable five-wicket win at Irby.
Their bowling attack made the difference, and Nick Guest (4-19) followed fine opening spells for Matt Norton (2-42) and Matt Howard (2-30) as the home team folded for 119.
The visitors’ reply included a 58-run partnership for the third wicket between Alex Hodges (29) and Slade Mitrovich (33) before skipper Craig Phelan (21no) steered them to 122-5.
Winnington Park fell to an 86-run reverse at promotion-hopefuls Chelford, who put 255-8 on the board.
Iain Connor (3-39) claimed the wicket of Hamayun Khalid (92), while two other batsmen passed 50 for the hosts.
Captain Alec Butcher (78) struck 16 fours in a fine innings at the top of the Park order before the final six wickets fell for just 44 runs.
Madussar Bashir did the damage, taking 5-34.
Middlewich improved their position in the table following an eye-catching seven-wicket win at Stockport Trinity.
Skipper Phil Parry (4-67) and Kieran Boyle (4-25 off 14 overs) led the way as the home team folded for 106 after winning the toss.
Boyle (49no) and Stephen Parry (34no) then shared in an unbroken partnership for the fourth wicket worth 85 runs to help the visitors recover from an early wobble at 22-3.
Ben Crellin continued a rich vein of form at the crease for Winsford as they thrashed Glazebury by 103 runs in Division Four.
He contributed 81, a third successive half-century, as the visitors closed on 188 all out after winning the toss.
A fine afternoon’s work continued when he took 2-22, while Dave Etchells (3-12) and captain Mike Dean (1-16) – who bowled four maidens in eight overs) played a part too as the hosts succumbed for 85 in reply.
