GREG Mairs captured a first European title with mixed doubles partner Jenny Moore last weekend.
They were victorious at the Norwegian International in Sandefjord, where they edged Danish combination Lasse Molhede and Alexandra Bode 21-11, 19-21, 21-11 in the final.
Mairs, a former student at Sir John Deane’s College and Weaverham High School, featured regularly for Loughborough Lightning in the now-defunct National Badminton League.
The 22-year-old is also a three-time British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) Nationals champion after completing a hat-trick of wins – also with Moore – earlier this year.
