Newcomers Alsager were victors at Spinner & Bergamot A in Section Two, ending their hosts’ hopes of pinching the second promotion place.
Rudheath B, conquerors of Wharton Cons C at Middlewich Road, take it instead.
Coppenhall WMC and Frodsham Red Lion D will move up from Section Three, though Rudheath C missed out by only 27 chalks after losing at relegated Crowton.
Limes amassed 244 as they thrashed Wharton Rec.
Barnton CC B scored a full house against Meadowbank B in Section Four, but Davenham B claim first place by an 80-chalk margin from runners-up Comberbach C.
The table-toppers dropped only three chalks in a success against Winsford Cons C.
Beech Tree B lost at Rudheath D in Section Five, but still go up as champions.
Village neighbours Barnton CC C also tasted defeat on their travels, away to Lostock, though they finish as runners-up.
