MIKE Clarke was Weaverham’s star turn as the newly-crowned Division Two champions signed off with a five-wicket win on Saturday at home to neighbours Northwich.
He returned figures of 4-36 as the Russets dismissed their guests for 142 at Wallerscote Road, where James Plant (29), Lee Evans (28) and tail-ender Mike Whitehead (22) each made starts.
But Weaverham were not to be denied a 15th league win of the season, recovering from 50-5 to reach their target thanks to Clarke (43no) and James Lewis (38no).
Oulton Park ended the summer with five wins from six matches, finishing fifth in Division One.
They beat Christleton by two wickets at Little Budworth, where the visitors piled up 263-5 after winning the toss with Iroshan de Silva (100no) sharing in a 128-run stand for the fourth wicket with Ifti Naseer (48).
Rick Moore’s men reached 266-8 with one ball to spare, wicket-keeper Pat Roberts (71) and Tom Hyslop (54) both contributing half-centuries while Nick James (49no) was at the crease for the finale.
Didsbury captain Nick Anderson inspired his side to a crushing eight-wicket win against Davenham, scoring an unbeaten century as they successfully chased 194 to win.
Anderson was unbeaten on 144 off 73 balls, including 14 fours and 11 sixes, with Daniel Hancock (2-33) the wicket-taker.
Earlier Davenham had scored 193, with Mike Sambell (63) adding 90 runs for the third wicket with Chris Hornby (22) before Ben Gallagher (33) chipped in lower down the order.
Middlewich, who secured their place in the second tier last week, were thrashed by 155 runs at home to Macclesfield.
Opener John Birchall (125) and captain Nick Ross (74) put on 157 runs for the second wicket in a tally worth 266-5, with Andrew Davies (3-48) the hosts’ best bowler.
They succumbed to 111 all out after batting for close to 40 overs, James Cornford (32) and Jordie Gibbens (25) making the biggest individual contributions.
