VALE Royal Athletics Club runners made the final in three distance events at the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) outdoor championships at the weekend.
Tessa McCormick and Amelia Pettitt were both the youngest athletes in the respective fields for the women’s 1,500m and 5,000m finals at Bedford.
The former, representing Birmingham, was ninth in 4:39.97.
Pettitt, studying at Newcastle, crossed the line in 14th place after timing 18:05.75 over 5,000m.
Kate Spilsbury, a Vale Royal member in Loughborough’s team, claimed ninth spot in the women’s 10,000m final.
