YOUNG shoppers at the Market Centre in Crewe have been bidding to win the centre’s willow deer sculpture for their school.
Youngsters took part in a free willow workshop at the centre in the summer, helping to create the deer sculpture and making mini beasts to take home. The deer was then used as the focal point of the centre’s summer display and children were invited to win the sculpture for their school.
The winner was Lauren Eden, aged 11, from Monk’s Coppenhall School in Crewe.
Lauren wrote that her school 'loves the environment and animals and especially woodland creatures like the deer'.
The sculpture was presented to Lauren by centre marketing assistant Melanie Brunsdon in an assembly this week.
