A TEENAGER will appear in court charged with tampering with a fire engine as firefighters dismantled would-be bonfires in Wharton.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, will appear at Vale Royal Youth Court today charged with charged with obstructing/hindering an emergency worker in the course of their duty.
Firefighters were in the process of putting out a number of small fires around Dee Way on Sunday, October 25 at around 9pm when a group of youths allegedly began shouting abuse at the officers and interfering with the fire hose.
A 13-year-old youth from Winsford was given an official police reprimand for the same offence.
