LITTLE Ellie Caine won a Halloween fancy dress competition last Saturday at a Nantwich garden centre.
Ellie, aged six, was judged to have the spookiest costume by staff at Bridgemere Garden World.
Manager Gary Kemp said: “We invited boys and girls to join us at the garden centre and take part in our competition to find the scariest Halloween outfit.
“We were delighted by the number of children who took part in our contest.
"We had lots of skeletons, witches and cats, but we thought that Ellie’s witch costume was the best.”
Ellie was presented with a family ticket for the Catalyst Science Discovery Centre in Widnes and some chocolate.
Six-year-old Lillie Davies from Nantwich and five-year-old Ashton Wright from Crewe were the runners-up in the competition and also received a family ticket for the Discovery Centre and a lucky dip bag.
The garden centre hosted a number of Halloween activities for children to take part in during the school half-term holidays.
Youngsters were able to enter Halloween-themed colouring competitions and a monster hunt to find pictures of creepy creatures hidden throughout the garden centre.
Face painter Sally Ringer was also on hand to paint children’s faces with scary designs.
