NORTHWICH Neighbourhood Policing Units will be running special operations during Hallowe’en and bonfire night to tackle anti-social behaviour associated with this time of year.
To make sure everybody has fun, officers will be patrolling areas where unsociable activities were reported last year.
The operation coincides with the Government campaign Not in My Neighbourhood Week, running from Friday, October 23 to Saturday, November 7.
Insp Paul Loughlin, of Northwich Neighbourhood Policing Unit, said: “Behaviour such as throwing eggs and flour at people or property will not be tolerated.”
The team will be working closely with local businesses to ensure alcohol, fireworks and flour and eggs do not fall into the wrong hands and cause criminal damage or injuries.
Leaflets to put in windows asking trick-or-treaters not to call are available on cheshire.police.uk and incidents of criminal behaviour should be reported to Cheshire Police on 0845 458 0000.
