CHESHIRE Police’s custody areas have been scrutinised by members of the public as part of the Ministry of Justice’s Inside Justice week.
The unannounced visits were made by independent custody visitors’ to check staff working practices and conditions which detainees are held, with their findings reported to the Cheshire Police Authority.
Margaret Ollerenshaw, Cheshire Police Authority Chairman, said: “Visits play an important part in providing public reassurance and boosting confidence in the police service.”
